Shepard Fairey (Obey)

Artist Bio
Frank Shepard Fairey (born February 15th 1970) is an american contemporary artist, graphic designer, and illustrator who’s background was largely street and skateboard based. He is most famously known for his “andre the giant has a posse” word, also known as “Obey”. Possibly Fairey’s most famous work in his career has to be the unofficial work he did for the 2008 U.S presidency, focusing mostly on the Barack Obama “HOPE” poster. Fairey is seen as one of the most prominent and influential artists of our time and is continually creating new work.

Fairey is one of my favourite artists he takes the art of screen printing to a whole new level and his bold and colourful work is an example of the great work that fresh young artists can achieve. I particularly like how he often mixes two of my favourite subjects, music and art to create some amazing pieces of work.
